How to Enable Blog Posting Through Text Messages

I wish I had figured out how to do this soon!
Sometimes I'll be away from my computer and maybe I want to just do a quick post.
I have an iPhone and have tried going to the blogger website but it's very difficult to do and you can't add photos (that I know how to anyways).

Then I figured out mobile blogging!
It's great because I can compose a post in a multimedia text message (MMS).
From there, I can add photos, write text, arrange how I want... all from my phone!

Downsides... you can't format your text... meaning no centering text, no bolding words, no changing fonts or font sizes.
Also, it doesn't add a post title.
But I can go through my phone's browser and edit the post after I send it to add a title.

Ever notice that little phone symbol next to your blog name on your dashboard?
You can click that button to set up mobile blogging!
Now if you've never set it up before, your phone image will be grayed out (like my email one).
Once you've set it up it turns orange, meaning mobile blogging is now enabled!

*note- the email button can also be used to set up blogging through email!*

Anyways... click that cell image to get started!

This screen will show up:

If you don't want to add photos or simply do not have MMS with your phone plan, you can use this screen to set up mobile blogging.

Note: this one doesn't allow you to add photos or anything.
Just simple posting.

A code of letters and numbers will appear in the light box.
Text that code to 256447.
You'll get a confirmation on your phone and your computer.
Keep following the onscreen instructions to finish!

Use the MMS option if you have the service on your phone and would like the option of adding photos to your posts.

First, on the SMS screen, click the "register using MMS" link.
This screen will show up:

A code of letters and numbers will appear in the light box.
Text that code to go@blogger.com.
I didn't know if it would work since I've never sent a text to an email but it did!
You'll get a confirmation on your phone and your computer.
Keep following the onscreen instructions to finish!

IMPORTANT: Your regular messaging rates will apply!
So basically... don't use it if you don't have messaging!
And be careful if you don't have unlimited messaging!

Hope this helps anyone who wanted to know about mobile blogging :)

Do you use mobile blogging?

my hubby and i use email to write posts to our family blog. it was especially helpful when i was in labor. He sent updates to the blog every time there was something to report and the whole fam got updated at the same time. I use email to start posts for my blog but I have it set to save as a draft so i can edit it before it posts. i didn't know you could do it as a text message though. so helpful!!

I did sign up for "mo-blogging", but I haven't used it. However, I have a Droid and there is an app for BLOGGER. You can take pictures and post it, as well as type up a blog post and then publish the whole thing. Not sure if it's available on iPhone or not, but worth checking into.
